I woke up in a really good mood this morning despite the fact that Julianna gave me a little bit of trouble last night. I slept late though so that made up for it. Then the visitors started calling this morning. Ugh! Anyway, I am determined to have a good day. I have already had a shower and I am actually eating lunch at lunch time so that is good. I was also down another pound this morning which is wonderful. That means that I have 13 pounds to go to get to my pre-baby weight. Yay! I can do that! I am motivated as long as the scale doesn't go up. When it goes up I start to lose hope and considering that I want to lose at least 15 pounds in addition to all of the baby weight I gained I need to keep up my motivation and hope.
Jules and I are going to feed mom and dad's cats today and then we are going by target to get some more prenatal vitamins and to take back some shelves for the nursery wall. I am hoping they will have some different ones that I can exchange them for.
Everyone can go ahead and start with their objections, but I don't care. Tonight we are going to try giving Julianna a bottle of formula just before bed. Maybe then she will sleep a little longer before she needs to eat again and that way I can pump to have an extra bottle of breastmilk on hand in can I need to go somewhere. Last night I fed her at ten and then she woke me up again at two and at six. Now she is napping in her swing of course. I am already worrying about being without her Friday night, but I know she will be fine and I want to get out. I know it will be good for us. I can't believe that Jonathan is going to be 29 though! Wow!

getting out and about
The little squirt is asleep in her swing again this morning. She must hate that thing. I am trying to grab some lunch while I have the chance although I still haven't had a chance to get a shower yet and it's past noon. We had a rough night last night. She woke me up around 3am to eat and then I couldn't get her to go back down she was SO SLEEPY she just couldn't make herself go to sleep. She would fall asleep and then her arms would jerk and she'd wake up and start to cry. It took me over an hour and fifteen minutes to get her back to sleep. Oh well. I suppose we'll have nights like that. I just wish there was some way around it.
We went to feed mom and dad's cats this morning and ran by school to drop off some receipts and stuff. Basically it was an exhausting journey, but tomorrow is only supposed to be 60 degrees so I wanted to get it out of the way. I have to carry so much stuff whenever we go anywhere and I also have to start getting ready at least a couple of hours in advance to feed her, change her and pack up the car. Anyway, lots of the kids got to see her this morning and they ohhhed and ahhhhed at her. Most people comment on her long fingers and her dark skin. But they don't need to tell me; I know that she is a beautiful baby. :)
Saturday at the mall she was mistaken for a boy. It didn't bother me and I don't even care enough to say anything. I can't believe that she is a month old now though. People say that they grow so fast and she has, but at the same time this month has seemed like an eternity. Sometimes I feel incompetent about how to care for her, but other times it just seems natural. I suppose God knew what He was doing when He blessed me with Jules so I will trust Him. OK, I gotta go eat before I starve!!!

life is good here at home
I added a bunch of pictures to the pictures page this weekend. It was a good weekend. Every weekend is good that I have help with the baby. Jonathan and I actually got a chance to go to the movies on Saturday - something we haven't done in a long, long time. It was really nice although we were in a hurry to get back to the little darling. We saw Lucky Number Slevin and it was pretty good. I would recommend it. I also had a chance to go to the mall with Mom and Whit Saturday morning which was a new adventure taking a baby along. But at least I got some clothes that I can fit into now. They are a size bigger than I normally wear but I still bought two cheap pair of capris so that I will have something to wear for the next couple of weeks. I really messed up on my diet this weekend, but I am getting back on track today. I still have 14 pounds to lose to get to pre-baby weight. I have about four weeks to do it in too. I hope I can. No more dessert this week!
Jules is asleep in her swing this morning and I am watching The Price Is Right. That swing is a life saver and although being out of work for two months isn't quite what I thought it would be, it does have some up sides. I haven't watched The Price Is Right in a gazillion years! :) As everyone always says when they have a baby, I just don't know where the day gets to. Anyway, we are going to take a trip to school tomorrow to drop some things off and Thursday we are going to have lunch with Jonathan again. I think we will make that a weekly thing. It will be nice to have some sort of routine. Friday is Jonathan's birthday and I'm not sure what we're doing then, but I know it won't be a lot. I think Jonathan is still a little worried about the hassle of taking Julianna out to a nice restaurant anyway. We did make it to church yesterday though. We didn't stay for the whole time because Julianna was starting to act like she was going to scream, but at least we went. We will get the hang of all this soon and maybe next week we will put her in the nursery since our church supposedly has great people working in there.
Well, I better go rescue the little girl before she spits up. Fun, fun! Hope you all have a great day (now that it's more than half over)!

Good morning!
I have the BEST little baby in the world! She slept SO great last night and is so happy this morning. And I am glad that it's Friday. I am going to try to get some stuff done around the house today but we'll have to see how it goes. Maybe we will get to church this weekend. That will be Julianna's first visit to church. I am lucky though to have a four week old that will sleep 5 hours and then 3 more hours at night. I couldn't be happier about that.
Jonathan and I are going to try to go to the movies this weekend. We desperately need some time together (at least I think so). Then Saturday night we are also going to try to move Julianna to the nursery. Fun times!
I have lost 26 of the 40 pounds I gained. I think that's great except I can't quite get into regular clothes yet. The first 22 came off really easily but I can tell that the rest I am going to have a struggle getting off. I keep meaning to exercise but it is so hard to find the time even if I have the energy. I have to lose at least 10 more pounds before Amanda's wedding in a month. Then it's time for bathing suits at the beach!
Well, I'm off to try to get a shower. Happy weekend everyone!

what's happening?
Today has been an interesting day. I met Jonathan and his mom for lunch. Of course, Jules slept all morning, especially for the rides in the car. This afternoon she has only been awake for about an hour and a half. I'm afraid she won't sleep tonight. She also has been spitting up like crazy lately. I don't know how to get her to quit doing it so much. I am learning as we go. It is hard though and I am so glad that tomorrow starts another weekend so Jonathan will be home to help.
We also ventured out to Target this morning. It is a chore lugging the carrier, stroller, and diaper bag everywhere we go, but it is worth it to get out of the house. I bought some white shelves to put on the wall in the nursery. Maybe I can get Jonathan to put those up this weekend. I was also wanting to get some white picture frames to hang with ribbon on the walls in the nursery, but their choices were slim. I am antsy to get some of her adorable photos on the walls.
So I can tell that getting this updated every day is going to be almost impossible considering I started this over 6 hours ago and I haven't really had a chance to get back to it since. Anyway, got to start getting ready for bed now. Love to you all!

i'm finally back
My little squirmy worm is just laying here next to me. She's grunting and looking all around. I call her all sorts of things like "my little bird mouth" and "Booger Junior." She has got to be the sweetest baby on earth. I'm sorry that I haven't been posting anything here in a while. I have been busy to say the least. And of course, I can't promise that I'll be posting something on here every day from now on, but I will certainly try. I am still getting used to things and trying to get little Jules in a routine.
Anyway, the delivery went pretty smoothly. No big complications which is a blessing of course. I am going to work on getting some pictures posted on this website soon. I want to try to keep it up-to-date and then have it for Julianna to read one day. Well, I had to stop and change several diapers and then got sidetracked doing some much needed laundry, eating lunch, and trying to catch a shower while Jules naps in her swing. I can tell that it is going to be hard to keep this up with such a little baby! So my entries will be short for a while, but at least I am trying to get back on it. Please forgive me! More tomorrow...
